hm...

its not bad, being an electronic musician myself and having heard some of your other stuff i would have to say this one is not your best work but not your worst.

let me break this down for ya and let you know exactly what i thought

1 - Bass

the bass is definatly a strong point in this piece, it flows really well and keeps up with the fast pace, nothing that i can whine and complain about as far as the bass goes.

2 - Drums

i did have a slight problem with the drums, why you may ask?

well for one they sound a little too close to presets, i know they are not presets but they sound similar and i really don't like hearing presets in music, makes it seem less professional.

the kick sounds really similar to the techno kick preset in Fruity loops and, while i do admit i used that kick alot in my earlier stuff, it sounds like crap (which is why i don't use it anymore ^.^)

also im used to hearing more intense drum breaks and drum patterns in your music but this one seems to be less filled in with the drum breaks and stuff, its mostly just a kick/snare/kick/snare type deal throughout the whole song
3 - Leads

the leads in this piece sound much more like what you usually add, and i do enjoy hearing that so you do get props for having that in there. though i didn't really like that 'seinfeld' type guitar that came in every now and then, it sounds nothing like what you usually add.

another thing i didn't like is that sound that comes in directly at the beginning right after the drum break, its the sound that plays through the whole song, i know what it is but i can't think of the name at the moment :/

i've never really liked how it sounded, and hearing it in this song really subtracted from what i think would make the song sound good, but thats just my opinion.

4 - Flow

this song does Flow very well, and honestly i wouldn't immediately think this was a paragonx9 song and if the thought did occur i would have to say that this sounds more like your earliest stuff then something recent.

there were parts of this song that made me think of the music in smash bros., this almost sounds like a remix of something.

i did enjoy the fast pace of this, that's pretty much what i expect from a song you make.

some of the sounds you use also remind me of some of your Chaoz songs. like, for example, the lead at 3:12 reminds me of Chaoz airflow.

5 - Mastering

As usual good job on mastering, im not hearing anything that is too loud or too quiet, everything is balanced nicely. more SFX maybe?

6 - Name

honestly the name 'blue marine' doesn't seem to fit with what you have going. to me this sounds more like a race theme, the only thing that i can see with the current title is a water-type theme, but i dunno if your happy with the name i guess that's how it will be. i just really think its a good idea to think through a name before releasing a song and try to pick a name that will get people interested and fits perfectly, i didn't used to do it and now i do with my most recent songs and i really like trying to pick a good name for it ^.^

7 - overall

Its a good piece. like i said before its not your best song but its definatly not your worst. I do realise that this was on a USB and could have been in progress for who knows how long.

If i could add anything i would say work more on the instruments and stuff i mentioned before and add in some stronger/louder pads and maybe even a piano.

another thing i would like to point out is the fact that this is pretty repetitive, you probably could have cut this down to like 1-2 minutes or even 1 minute 30 seconds and it would have worked pretty well.

so lets wrap this review up

Drums: 1/2

Leads: 1/2

Flow: 1/1

i know this score is a little lower then all the 8-10's you've been getting so far but this is my honest opinion on the song, and i decided to give you a decent review explaining why.

you obviously don't have to but i would appreciate a review back ^.^

pretty good

watch the high tones though, they can really harm a potentially good song. i might suggest keeping your high tones down to a minimum. like that sound that comes in at 0:27, you could try adding a lower tone to go along with it

KroweMusic responds:

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to watch for that in the future :)

Thanks for leaving a review :)

overclipping

i agree with the first review, you've got an excellent song here but its got way too much overclipping, meaning the kick is way too powerful compared to the rest

:-/

first: you need to compress or turn down the volume on most of your instruments, expecially the one at the beginning, that cracking definatly was a major turn off for me.

second: get better samples and don't use presets, that will make your music stand out from the rest

LeviaNeo responds:

First of all, this song hasn't crackled ever for me. Which leads me to believe that it is a defect in your sound system. Generally when an audio stream crackles, it has to do with the quality of speakers. Not the quality of the audio. For a test of this, play Fated to roll and the edited SuperBass version of the song. But I do thank you for your honest opinion.

sweet!

nice hardstyle! the intro is very awesome and that kick is nice and thumping, i really like this one! that change of pace around 1:00 is very intriguing too. nice one :)

unrealdark responds:

I'm happy to hear you liked it man!

hm...

you need to either turn down the bass or work on mastering. this song could turn out to be pretty good but your bass is overpowering everything, also you should try getting samples that are not preset into your DAW

started good

the reason why im giving it an 8 is because of the first half. fantastically done.

as for the second half you need to work on it more, the tone goes from really upbeat and sounding great to a really overly compressed piano with a less exciting beat

Or4nges responds:

It's supposed to be the sort of "calm before the storm" deal. If I had the open high hat and the saw lead going throughout the whole thing, it would get very boring and repetitive very fast.

Also this was my first submission, so it's not perfect.

dark ;)

i was looking for a nice dark theme to use in Organized Stupidity and found this!

i like the bells and chimes you got going in the background, gives it a creepy feeling

hm....

its not bad though im not really liking that synth that comes in at 0:28, maybe change the instrument on that

Jenni-Harry4eva3 responds:

Hmm... I'll see what I can do. Thanks.

i like it!

i can really see this being used in an rpg game as a theme to a pub
