interesting

one thing though, if your gonna have lyrics in a song that isn't heavy metal (cuz honestly i can barely understand what they are saying in most heavy metal) then you need to make sure they are understandable.

i can see you have the lyrics written down but if i didn't have that i wouldn't know what you were saying, you should turn up the vocals, besides that the guitar does have a nice bit of reverb to it and thats nice to hear :) i don't usually hear this much reverb onn a guitar...at least i haven't...

starcecil responds:

Thank you so much for reviewing it! I'm personally really into chill, relaxing, unintelligible vocals like Washed Out It's really just a matter of taste, But I suppose making them clearer would probably help XD

Any thanks a lot for the review and vote!

w'dup

mm...i like that opening, a pulsing effect is one thing that makes a song really start up good, especially if its a heartbeat, i love that. :)

im liking the strength of that kick, definitely thumping my ears in a good way!

one thing I didn't really like though is that sound that came in at around 2 minutes, it just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the sounds and when it hits the high notes it just doesn't sound right :/

another thing I should point out is this is slightly repetitive, I can scroll to just about any part of the song and it still has the same beat, though I did notice you added some extra stuff in there at certain points to kinda vary it up a bit but overall its the same thing, i would say have it stay the same till about 3 minutes, then bring in something new and something that wasn't used in the first half.

your use of effects and sounds are pretty well done, not much i can say about that besides great job!

i LOVE the ending, feels like someone is playing the thumping sound and just walks out of the room, and that is totally awesome ^.^ totally ties in with the beginning too. pretty sick stuff!

alright so...

im not a huge fan of hip-hop so this is not what i usually listen to.

let me break down a few things

1- the beginning definatly gets things going way different then i expected, it sounds like an 8-bit synth with a phaser. thats actually pretty cool, considering its hip-hop you don't hear sounds like that often

2 - at 0:30 that bassline sound you have with the phaser could use a little work, its not bad but it sounds like it clips a little bit so you might wanna try to EQ it a bit or work with changing the instrument itself.

3 - your drums were the most unexpected thing about this piece, it has a techno drum style, but a hip-hop feeling. interesting!

4 - it seems to cut out too soon, once you get the drums going it plays for a short time then fades out, you might wanna lengthen it from that part on, you basically have half a song with no drums then half with drums, might wanna make it 1/3 no drums 2/3 with drums.

i will have to be honest and say its not entierly 10 material, the music is good but the instrument quality is a little less then what it could be. ill give you a 9 :)

glitchs2d responds:

I wish I could say the beat was mine and I Im willing to change it but sadly its not its just something I found lying around (I dont even know the name of the original song) and wanted to rap to because of the techno feel and most rap songs dont have a real techno feel. But I loved the drums which made me want to rap to it in the first place.

nice :P

ii like how you kept some of the other bits i added in there to make it not just the original strait up

DjKirb responds:

I did it like this, just for the loop. ;D

sweet!

pretty nice stuff ya got here!

Im liking the little bass-inserts you have at the beginning, makes it feel more professional.

your mastering is certainly improving sounds alot cleaner then your other stuff, not too much compression/EQ/etc.

one thing though it feels a little slow, i think you could easily bump the BPM up 5-10 higher

nice!

i like the scratching, don't hear alot of that on newgrounds.

i also like the bell sounds, pretty sweet!

9/10

5/5

T-Free responds:

Thank you! :D

excellent!

a couple things i would like to point out though.

you seem to build up alot to the same melody, might wanna bring in the other melodies a little sooner.

at first i didn't hear the similarity to sandstorm but once you brang in the, conviniently named, sandstorm z3ta+ instrument i definatly heard the similarity.

i really like the way it sounds at 0:59, the bass is pretty sweet right there.

might wanna add more pads and some stronger bass kicks

ShootingStar responds:

Hmm, good idea. I'll keep that in mind :) And yes that was kind of what I was trying to do.
I could add some more complexity, but I feel like it was full enough as is.
Thanks for the comment!

horrible mastering job

you have a decent song on your hands here, while the cracking is not as big of an issue for me there is something else that was, your mastering.

throughout this whole thing the drums were way overpowered compared to the rest and overall it was just plain loud. you have far too much bass.

TheJonnyDeath responds:

This song was never mastered, and if you'd of read the commentary you'd know that I am well aware of those issues and have been for about.. oh 2 years.

Thanks for listening! :)

man!

i like this one!

the japanese guitar sounds or whatever those are called really add alot to this, sounds like you put alot of effort into it :)

i really like the piano, gives it a nice flow alongside the orchestral

:-)

the pads are the strongest part of this song, im really liking the smoothness of them and how calm they are.

the piano is pretty much my favorite part of this song, it really makes the overall feeling really stand out.

great job dude, im DLing this and fav'n it :)
